How to grow a brand that attracts true fans

Greetings from London!

For those who don’t know, I’ve lived here for over 5 years until 2017.

So, coming back here for vacation feels like returning home.

My first week has been fantastic, seeing old friends, walking around familiar areas, and visiting my favourite restaurants.

Many things have changed.

But one thing hasn’t.

The good old British weather.

You start your day with crisp cool air, and you thought it’ll be a beautiful day.

Wrong.

By lunchtime, dark clouds start looming. And suddenly, the rain is pouring hard.

But 10 minutes later, it’s a clear blue sky with golden sunshine.

And as your day fades into the evening, you get the howling wind as it’s picking up its pace.

How unpredictable.

I need to be prepared all the time.

That is, carrying with me a raincoat, a sunscreen, and a comfy jacket.

Just like the British weather, your creator’s journey is full of unexpected stuff.

Be prepared to adapt when you face new challenges.

But at the same time, be ready to snatch any opportunity that comes your way too.

Luck favours the prepared.

And now, let’s dive into this week’s main alpha…

How to grow a brand that attracts true fans

1. Avoid picking a niche

Your niche is already somewhere inside you waiting to be discovered.

Don’t constrain yourself to a few specific topics…

Create it based on your goal instead:

  • WHO do you want to work with?

  • What RESULT do they get from working with you?

This way, you’ll create a niche of your own.

The one with no competition.

2. Avoid finding a voice

Your voice is something unique to you.

But it takes time to find.

So don’t force it.

Keep publishing your content until it comes out naturally.

Over time, you’ll find that some of them perform better than others.

Identify and double down on them.

That’s the voice you should lean into more.

3. Avoid scheduling tweets all the time

Scheduling in advance is great.

But here’s what I noticed.

Tweets that I publish on the spot perform better.

Why?

They’re often based on your instinct or ideas that pop up during specific situations you’re facing.

They’re more authentic.

Something you need to build loyalty.

4. Avoid doing plain giveaways

Doing giveaways isn’t bad.

But doing ones that are too broad is.

If what you offer can be found from a quick Google search…

Then you might as well don’t do it.

They’ll only attract freeloaders.

Focus on sharing content that aligns with the needs of your audience instead.

5. Avoid monetising too early

When you just started your journey as a creator…

The priority shouldn’t be to get to the first dollar fast.

But to build trust and credibility first.

So, take your time to understand their needs.

Then offer product/service that aligns with them.

That’s how you build strong bonds.

The proven strategies

These data help me identify tweets that are worth improving and doubling down on.

You have a great bio and a great pinned tweet, but do they work well together? This will help you find the right combo.

There are many ways to make money online as a creator, you just need to find the right one for you.

The Web3 insights

Full ownership of conversations tied to your online identity is the way forward.

These NFTs help a foundation achieve its sustainability goals by offsetting 100% of its annual carbon emissions.

From aligning with audience needs to offering valuable products, you can apply these to your creator’s journey.

The final alpha

Twitter growth can be tough when you just started.

But if you do these, you’re guaranteed to stand out even if you’re under 100 followers.

Wishing you an alpha week!
